DayDream pool at M Resort tempts locals with cabana, drink prices

Want the best of a Strip dayclub with a decidedly off-Strip, but still four-star, feel? Oh, and at prices way more affordable than you’d find on the Strip?
If so, DayDream Pool Club at M Resort is just the summertime soiree you’ve been seeking, says Jason Dougan, M Resort’s vice president of hotel operations.
"We’re obviously off the Strip," he says, "but it feels like more of a Strip setting."
Certainly, DayDream offers the same sort of attractions — DJs and drink specials, for instance — as other pool events. But, Dougan says, "we are a four-star resort that offers four-star service at the pool club. And I think what distinguishes us more is our pricing on cabanas and our drink prices."
Cabanas — there are 10 — start at $175, he says, while DayDream’s six daybeds start at $125. Bottle service prices begin at $65.
"We also are more geared toward our locals," Dougan says. "We have to keep pricing affordable so our locals have somewhere to go instead of going down to the Strip. A lot of them work there."
Dougan describes DayDream’s vibe as "a little more relaxed than you would find down on the main part of Las Vegas Boulevard."
The pool club covers about 12,000 square feet of space, enough to accommodate 350 guests, and offers amenities that include an infinity-edge pool, an ice railing around the bar and DJs who manage the party’s aural ambiance.
Dougan says DayDream has been "very busy" this year and that locals have found their way to M, thanks in part to reasonable covers. (Ladies, both local and guest, are admitted free, while local men pay $10 and nonlocal men pay $15.)
"Again, we keep pricing very reasonable for locals, because that’s really who we want to cater to," Dougan says. "We want them to come out and have a good time and a good experience."
DayDream Pool Club is located at M Resort, 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
