Chateau Nightclub at Paris adding outdoor garden to amenities

Outdoor spaces are nothing new in nightclubs.

But the owners of Chateau Nightclub and Gardens at Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South, say their outdoor garden will be like nothing Vegas has seen before. The garden is scheduled to debut Oct. 4.

When the venue opened last year, its addition to the nightclub scene was notable for a couple of reasons.

It was among the few hotel nightclubs, if not the first, to have direct access from the Strip. And its terrace became a focal point, elevated slightly above the sidewalk so that clubgoers could feed off of the vibe created by the action on the street.

That was the whole idea, says co-owner Michael Greco.

"I think the gardens and terrace are what make (Chateau) the superstar. It’s sort of a free-flowing area that is made to look literally like a garden, so when you go outside, there’s lots of greenery," Greco says. "You’re also looking at a party underneath the Eiffel Tower. There’s no other view like it in the entire world."

Management expects to get about 1,500 guests a night in the 12,000-square-foot garden. On Oct. 15, they’re launching a party called Butterfly, sort of a tribute to all the great house parties, Greco says.

The main room, rooftop garden and terrace are a combined 45,000-square-feet spread out over two stories. The terrace operates as a beer garden during the day and morphs into one of the club’s focal points at night.

The Chateau’s theme is in line with the European feel of Paris Las Vegas. Designers have given a modern twist to an old world theme, incorporating a color scheme with palates of lush golds, black and hints of rouge and garnet. Chandeliers hang throughout the main room. A grand spiral staircase leads to the club from the casino floor.

The DJ booth, located above a 10-foot-tall marble fireplace, is the focal point of the 15,000-square-foot main room. An LED screen stretches across the wall behind it, providing an electronic canvas for videos and other visual elements.

Bottle service starts around $500 for four; the average price of a cocktail is $12.

Cover charge varies depending on the event and night but starts at $20 for women and $30 for men. Local ladies always get in free.
