New CDs you need
Three recommended new CDs that came out today:
Drive-By Truckers, “English Oceans”: The hard luck characters that populate the DBT’s thinking-man’s Southern rock, as richly drawn as they are forever flawed, may struggle to make things right, but the Truckers can do no wrong as they continue to demonstrate on their 10th album.
Nothing, “Guilty of Everything”: Beautiful and bracing, with dreamy vocals and nightmare guitars, this is for those of you who didn’t think the last My Bloody Valentine record was quite bloody enough.
Fossils, “Flesh Hammer”: Full-contact instrumental awesomeness from this oddball Danish duo who paint themselves red. For fans of Karma to Burn, air guitar and stuff that doesn’t suck.
