Wine Amplified turns up volume with heavier lineup

The Rock ‘n Roll Wine Amplified Weekend has announced its return, this time with a mosh pit or two (or not).

The annual wine and music event, now in its ninth year, expands to two days this go-round and has amped up its lineup a bit.

The festival will take place Oct. 10 and 11 in the lot across from the Luxor, and will feature pop punks Blink-182 as the headliner of Saturday’s festivities, a more harder-hitting act than has played the event before, while the decidedly more soccer-mom-friendly Train tops the bill the previous night.

The musical lineup also includes Violent Femmes, Magic! and The Mowgli’s on Saturday, with Michael Franti & Spearhead, Better Than Ezra, of Verona and Mystic Roots performing on Friday.

As for the spirits on hand, more than 60 wineries will be represented, offering 150 wines and 20 craft beers.

Additionally, there will be a hidden speakeasy, barrel tastings, grape stomping, a libation lounge and a wide variety of food truck options.

Early bird tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday.
