Turbocharged Americana group The Avett Brothers play Brooklyn Bowl

When the Americana thunderbolt that is The Avett Brothers first struck Vegas in September 2010, their show was so raucous, their fiddle player attacked his instrument until its strings frayed and snapped.

The band has settled into a more contemplative groove on their latest record, 2013’s “Magpie and the Dandelion,” an album posited on reflection and a palpable sense of wonderment.

It’s a warm-sounding record, with acoustic guitars, some plucky banjo playing here and there, and purring organ complementing Seth and Scott’s earnest, unadorned singing voices.

Live, though, they’re still known to shred a fiddle or two.
