The Who Hits 50! tour coming to Las Vegas

The Who are turning 50 and you can help them blow out the candles on their birthday cake — or, you know, maybe just show up and play air guitar.

The iconic rockers are bringing their The Who Hits 50! tour to Las Vegas next summer, playing the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Sept. 19.

“This is the beginning of the long goodbye,” says singer Roger Daltrey in a post on the band’s website www.thewho.com.

Adds Peter Townsend: “Trying to stay young. Not wearing socks. Growing a great big woodcutter’s beard. Might even wear a check shirt on stage and get a tattoo of a Union Jack. Always a fashion victim. But under no illusions. We are what we are, and extremely good at it, but we’re lucky to be alive and still touring.”

According to the site, the tour will see The Who playing both hits and deeper album cuts from throughout the band’s career.

Tickets go sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 17.
