The List: Latest DVDs, CDs, books, April 2

A look at some of the DVDs, CDs and books hitting stores this week:

DVDs

“Hemingway & Gellhorn” (not rated): The love affair and marriage of Ernest Hemingway (Clive Owen) and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn (Nicole Kidman) is chronicled in this HBO original movie that was nominated for 15 Emmys.

Topping today’s TV transfers: “The Bible: The Epic Miniseries,” “Route 66: Season Four” and seasons two through four of “Highway Patrol.”

CDs

Tyler, The Creator, “Wolf”: So what exactly does Tyler create?

Controversy, mostly.

The Odd Future MC raps of stabbing Bruno Mars, ingesting truckloads of drugs and occasionally dancing around in women’s underwear.

Ultimately, though, he’s more mischievous than menacing, a class clown in the guise of a “Wolf.”

Also in stores: Alkaline Trio, “My Shame Is True”; Authority Zero, “The Tipping Point”; The Band Perry, “Pioneer”; Bring Me the Horizon, “Sempiternal”; Jimmy Cliff, “The KCRW Sessions”; Cold War Kids, “Dear Miss Lonelyhearts”; Killswitch Engage, “Disarm the Descent”; Kinski, “Cosy Moments”; Mudhoney, “Vanishing Point”; New Kids on the Block, “10”; Warbeast, “Destroy”; and Gretchen Wilson, “Right on Time.”

BOOKS

“Mom & Me & Mom” by Maya Angelou: Award-winning writer Maya Angelou explores her relationship with her mother, Vivian Baxter, including the abandonment she felt after being sent away at 3 years old and the healing of their reconciliation, in her latest autobiography.

And moms seem to be a theme this week as Las Vegas’ Marie Osmond offers insights from her own experiences and those she learned from her mom in “The Key Is Love: My Mother’s Wisdom, A Daughter’s Gratitude.”

Also hitting shelves: “All That Is” by James Salter; “Dark Passage” by Ridley Pearson; “Fearless” by Cornelia Funke; “Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal” by Mary Roach; “It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great” by Gwyneth Paltrow; “Making Good Habits, Breaking Bad Habits” by Joyce Meyer; “Manuscript Found in Accra” by Paulo Coelho; “No Way Back” by Andrew Gross; “Rise” by Anna Carey; and “Starting Now” by Debbie Macomber.
