“Olympus Has Fallen” (R): When North Korean militants seize the White House, it’s up to a disgraced Secret Service agent (Gerard Butler) to save the president.

Elsewhere, for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding, a long-divorced couple (Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton) must pretend to still be happily married in “The Big Wedding” (R), a comedy also featuring Susan Sarandon, Amanda Seyfried and Robin Williams. Robert Redford, Susan Sarandon, Julie Christie, Nick Nolte, Stanley Tucci, Terrence Howard and Chris Cooper star in “The Company You Keep” (R), about former Weather Underground activists still in hiding after four decades. In the days after Hirohito’s surrender, General Douglas MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones) assigns an expert in Japanese culture (Matthew Fox) to determine whether the Japanese emperor should be punished or saved in “Emperor” (PG-13). And a 6-year-old girl is caught in the middle of a custody dispute between a rock star (Julianne Moore) and an art dealer (Steve Coogan) in an update of the Henry James novel “What Maisie Knew” (R).
