Spend a Saturday with Chicago

Summer’s over for most of us. But for the band Chicago, the road trip goes on and on, whether it’s Las Vegas this weekend or in Kuala Lumpur next month.

The band’s been touring each year for almost as long as it’s been in business, which would be 43 years since its debut album.

“We never thought longevity would be anything we would be conscious of or famous for (but) it’s something we’re real proud of,” Robert Lamm, the voice behind hits such as “Saturday in the Park” noted a few years ago.

Lamm is still backed by the original horn section of Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and (Lake Las Vegas resident) Walt Parazaider.

“We’re always kind of up against, ‘What do we play and what do we leave out?’ ” Lamm noted of trying to pack so many years of music into one evening.
