NOFX among bands at Punk Rock Bowling

We don’t want to see the dude explode from an excess of self-administered toxins like a bratwurst left in the microwave too long, but if that ever happens to Fat Mike, it’ll likely go down at Punk Rock Bowling.

The NOFX frontman is the life of said party annually, both as a performer and catalyst for all sorts of drunken mayhem.

He’s become the PRB’s unofficial mascot, leading by debauched example.

This year, NOFX is back as a PRB headliner, one of 60 bands who will play the fest, which begins today and concludes on Monday with shows at a variety of venues downtown.

The event pairs bands that drove the ’90s punk boom (Rancid, Pennywise) with Brit scene forebears (The Adicts, The English Beat), local favorites (Holding onto Sound, The Seriouslys) and dozens of others.

The whole weekend has the feel of a family reunion, with punk lifers from across the country descending on Vegas to form cherished memories that the booze will soon erase.
