Nevada Pops embrace Halloween spirit

Nevada Pops, under the direction of Richard McGee, will present its second annual Halloween concert, "Tricks and Treats," at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Artemus Ham Hall at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

The concert will include a performance of "The Sorcerer’s Apprentice," music from the blockbuster book-to-movie "Twilight," and traditional Halloween favorites including "Danse Macabre" and "Night on Bald Mountain." The Gilbert Magnet School children’s choir, Collage, also will be featured.

McGee and the musicians will perform in costume. Audience members can compete in an all-ages costume contest. Following the concert, candy will be given to trick-or-treaters in costume.

Tickets are available by calling 895-2787. Prices are $14-$18.
