Las Vegas celebrity DJs team up for victims benefit concert

Updated October 10, 2017 - 10:33 am

Star DJs Tiesto, Kaskade, Steve Aoki and more will team up Nov. 7 at Omnia in Caesars Palace for a concert to benefit victims of the Oct. 1 shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival.

“Las Vegas has become like a home to me,” Tiesto said in a news release announcing the benefit. In addition to a $200,000 donation Tiesto made to launch the fundraiser, “it was also extremely important to me that I perform to raise as much as possible.”

Tiesto pledged a $200,000 donation via Twitter on Saturday in response to a challenge by star DJ Diplo, who urged “any other DJs or hotel owners to match it” because “we owe it to the city.”

Kaskade also replied “count me in” to Diplo’s Twitter challenge.

Zedd, Lil Jon, NGHTMRE, Cash Cash and more DJs will join the benefit organized by Hakkasan Group, which also operates the Strip nightclubs Hakkasan, Wet Republic and Jewel.

“With this event we hope that our company, partners and friends can not only give back to the community but also show that we’re united and stand together in the face of this tragedy,” according to Nick McCabe, Hakkasan Group chief executive officer.

Proceeds from the benefit concert will be donated to the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund via the Direct Impact Fund, a nonprofit that deducts no fees or operating costs for helping distribute relief to the victims.

Tickets to the benefit (for those 21 and over) range from $30 general admission to $105 for VIP bar card packages; VIP tables also are available. Find details and tickets at omnianightclub.com.
