Imagine Dragons nominated for 12 Billboard awards

And now for your weekly update on what new accomplishment the Imagine Dragons have achieved.

Today, the finalists for the Billboard Music Awards were announced, and after breathing fire on the charts throughout 2013, it should come as no surprise that the Vegas band ties New Zealand goth pop sensation Lorde for the most nominations.

Earning a total of 12 nods, Imagine Dragons earned more than such big names as Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

The categories that Imagine Dragons will compete in include “Top Rock Album,” “Top Hot 100 Artist,” “Top Digital Songs Artist,” “Top Rock Artist” and more.

The awards show takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 18, and will be broadcast on ABC.

Should the band win big — and we bet they will — at least they won’t have a long haul for all those trophies.
