Aside from Uruguayan death metal combos, a cappella vocal groups are about the last thing one expects to see high atop the Billboard album charts.
And yet Texas quintet Pentatonix have achieved just that.
After winning season three of "The Sing-Off" TV talent competition, the group broke into the top 20 with their debut EP, "PTX Vol. 1."
Pentatonix’s appeal lies in their indefatigable exuberance and pitch perfect harmonies, which are sunny as a never-ending summer.
