Celebrate the classics with Creedence Clearwater Revisited

Sure we’d all rather see John Fogerty, and it’s good he’s out playing again.

But it hasn’t always been the case, and Creedence Clearwater Revisited has kept the Creedence classics alive since 1995.

That means bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug “Cosmo” Clifford were way early to the trend of blending original members with sound-alike singers.

What seemed like a strange idea at the time has since been largely accepted by fans of Journey, Foreigner, Yes and other bands; though in this case it’s Fogerty who retained veto power over use of the Creedence Clearwater Revival name.

But the Northern Nevada-based Revisited built a lot of trust in the past 16 or so years of playing in Las Vegas. As Cook said back when this all started, “We’re as close to the records as (fans) can remember in their own minds, and they seem happy to have an opportunity to celebrate the music with us.”
