Brandon Flowers going solo again

Looks like Brandon Flowers is striking out on his own once again.

British music magazine NME has reported that The Killers frontman is preparing a second solo record following 2010’s “Flamingo,” which spawned the hit single “Crossfire” and went gold in the United Kingdom.

According to NME, who spoke to Flowers when The Killers headlined the U.K.’s V Festival earlier this month, Flowers is collaborating on the album with producer Ariel Rechstaid, best known for his work with Vampire Weekend and Haim.

The Las Vegas native said his upcoming release will be less influenced by the city. “The record’s not done yet, but I’m excited about it … I’m liking it. People are going to interpret it how they will, but there’s only a little bit of Vegas in there.”

At fan concerns of a split, Flowers said he has no plans to leave The Killers. “I think we wanna keep going,” he said.

The record is tentatively due in 2015.
