Bought the album? Now hear Jane’s Addiction play it live
May 1, 2014 - 9:43 pm
C’mon, Ted, just admit it, already: You want to hear Jane’s Addiction’s alt-rock fever dream “Nothing’s Shocking” front-to-back, right?
Of course you do.
The album is one of the touchstones of ’80s college rock’s lunatic fringe, a record of beauty and bombast, heavy drugs and heavier guitars.
Beginning Thursday, Jane’s Addiction will play the album in its entirety during each show of a three-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl.
One of the guest musicians on “Nothing’s Shocking,” Fishbone’s Angelo Moore, who played sax on the record, will also be in the house during the engagement, as Fishbone will play late shows following Jane’s Addiction’s performances.
What could be better than seeing those funk rock square pegs combust onstage?
Seeing them for free: Fans who buy a ticket to Jane’s Addiction can stay and catch Fishbone at no extra cost.
