Blink-182 playing pool show at Cosmo

Remember when Blink-182 spent its time writing songs about having sex with dogs and grandparents and thinking of things that rhyme with dysentery?

No?

Well, it’s easy to forget those days considering the band’s most recent output, which sees the threesome addressing more adult concerns, like battling one’s inner demons and attempting to mend broken relationships.

Blink-182’s sound has evolved too, moving beyond nasally, pun- and poo-heavy pop punk while incorporating more electronic touches and the sweeping scope of vintage U2.

“I guess this is growing up,” singer-bassist Mark Hoppus sighed on the band’s breakout hit, “Dammit,” back in 1997.

No, it wasn’t. But this is.
