ArtBeat returns with series of four fall concerts

ArtBeat, the Henderson cultural arts series presented by Target, returns this fall with performances from entertainers ranging from ’80s icons to today’s rising stars.

All shows begin at 8 p.m. in the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St. Admission is free.

Each show features a pre-show, beginning at 6:30 p.m., complete with a variety of complimentary performances by local musicians, art displays and demonstrations.

Concerts include former “American Idol” contestant Casey Abrams, local musician Benton Paul, Brat Pack era singer John Parr and Tommy Tutone, the pop group that recorded the Billboard hit “867-5309/Jenny.”

Abrams, one of the season 10 finalists on “Idol,” opens the series on Sept. 7. Paul, who is made his mark on the music scene by working with The Killers and touring with “American Idol” alumni David Archuletta, returns home Sept. 28. Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Parr visits Henderson Oct. 12 as part of his Military Tour 2012, and Tommy Tutone will entertain audiences Oct. 19 with a retro concert that will be highlighted by its 1982 hit.
