The List: Latest DVDs, CDs, books, November 27

A look at some of the DVDs, CDs and books hitting stores this week:

DVDs

“Men in Black 3” (PG-13): Agent J (Will Smith) travels back in time to save Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) by partnering with a young Agent K (an eerily Jones-esque Josh Brolin).

Elsewhere, Virginia’s infamous bootlegging Bondurant brothers (Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke) fight back when authorities want a cut of their profits in the drama “Lawless” (R), which is based on a true story. A young Motown-era singer (Jordin Sparks) struggles with her newfound fame in the remake of “Sparkle” (PG-13) that will forever be remembered as Whitney Houston’s final performance. A Miami newcomer (Kathryn McCormick) falls for the leader (Ryan Guzman) of a flash mob crew determined to save their neighborhood from a wealthy developer (Peter Gallagher) in “Step Up: Revolution” (PG-13). A boy (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee) who can talk to the dead battles zombies in the stop-motion animated “ParaNorman” (PG). And it’s an “Avengers”-style team up of supporting actors as “Twilight’s” Ashley Greene, “Captain America’s” Sebastian Stan and “Harry Potter’s” Tom Felton battle an evil spirit in “The Apparition” (PG-13).

Topping today’s TV transfers: “Luck: The Complete First Season,” “Hot in Cleveland: Season Three” and “Perry Mason: The Eighth Season, Volume One.”

CDs

Alicia Keys, “Girl on Fire”: Remember “Man on Fire?”

It was a crappy Denzel Washington flick.

Here’s hoping that “Girl on Fire,” the latest from R&B star Alicia Keys, generates a bit more heat.

Nicki Minaj and Maxwell drop by, Swizz Beatz produces, and Keys fans the flames of her desire.

Also in stores: Judy Collins, “Judy Collins Live at the Metropolitan Museum of Art: Celebrating Fifty Years of Timeless Music”; Freeway, “Diamond in the Ruff”; Glee Cast, “Glee the Music: Season 4, Volume 1”; Junkie XL, “Synthesized”; and Wu-Block (Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch), “Wu-Block.”

BOOKS

“Cold Days” by Jim Butcher: Wizard Harry Dresden is no longer dead – but he wishes he were – as now he must serve Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness, and her first order is for him to kill an immortal.

Another Harry returns this week with Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch, who relaunches his investigation into a 1992 murder of a female photographer in “The Black Box.”

Also hitting shelves: “Broken Like This” by Monica Trasandes; “Cold City” by F. Paul Wilson; “Dream More” by Dolly Parton; “The Eagle Unbowed” by Halik Kochanski; “The Great Pearl Heist” by Molly Caldwell Crosby; “The Legend of Broken” by Caleb Carr; “The Lucky Ones” by Anna Godbersen; “Lullaby” by Amanda Hocking; “Not Dead Yet” by Peter James; and “1775: A Good Year for Revolution” by Kevin Phillips.
