‘Take Shelter’ opening Friday

The movie: “Take Shelter”

When: Opening Friday at local theaters

The story: Plagued by apocalyptic visions, a young husband and father wonders whether to shelter his family from the impending storm — or from himself.

The buzz: Writer-director Nichols’ drama earned acclaim at January’s Sundance film festival, then captured two awards at the Cannes film festival in May.
