Nevada Film Festival has two days of features, shorts, documentaries

Las Vegas’ film festival season rolls on as the third annual Nevada Film Festival returns to the Rampart Casino today and Saturday at the JW Marriott Resort in Summerlin, 221 N. Rampart Blvd.

The event kicks off at 7:30 tonight with a filmmaker reception at J.C. Wooloughan’s Irish Pub.

The documentary "Age of Champions," about five senior athletes chasing their dreams at the National Senior Olympic Games, leads off screenings at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Marquis Ballroom.

Programs continue through the day, featuring shorts, features and documentaries from around the world, including the "50,000 Tribute Fans Can’t Be Wrong" (noon), which explores how celebrity impersonation became a profession, and "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story" (4:45 p.m.), about the legendary Marvel Comics creator.

The feature "Amy Alyson Fans" — in which a struggling actor launches an unofficial fan site for his rising-star girlfriend — closes the festival at 8:15 p.m., followed by a 10 p.m. awards ceremony.

Tickets are priced from $7 (individual screenings) to $50 (all-access passes), with $10 short film block passes and $25 minipasses also available.
