DVDS

“Brave” (PG): Young Scottish archer Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald) joins the ranks of Disney heroines in this animated tale from Pixar that also features the voices of Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Craig Ferguson.

Elsewhere, Laguna Beach, Calif., pot-growers (Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson) wage war against the Mexican cartel (led by Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro) that kidnapped the woman (Blake Lively) they love in the Oliver Stone thriller “Savages” (R).

Four suburbanites (Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade) looking for a little excitement end up having to save their neighborhood from aliens in the comedy “The Watch” (R).

And the future of the time-share tower at Planet Hollywood Resort lies at the heart of the documentary “Queen of Versailles” (PG), which plays out like the pilot for one of Bravo’s crazy-millionaire reality shows.

Topping today’s TV transfers: “Doctor Who: Series Seven – Part One,” “Lost Girl: Season Two,” “Duck Dynasty: Season One” and “Storage Wars Texas: Season One.”

CDS

Soundgarden, “King Animal”: It’s been 16 years since Seattle grunge band Soundgarden put out an album of fresh material.

First song on their new record?

“Been Away Too Long.”

Yup.
