First Look: James Bond saves day again in ‘Skyfall’

What: “Skyfall”

When: Opening Friday

Cast: Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes

Director: Sam Mendes

The story: With MI6 under attack from a mysterious cyberterrorist (Bardem), it’s up to James Bond (Craig) to save M (Dench) from his wrath.

The buzz: The 23rd installment in the 007 franchise is the most intimate, realistic one yet. And audiences seem to be responding. “Skyfall” earned $287 million in its first 10 days overseas. It marked the highest-grossing seven days ever in the U.K. And in France, it’s already passed the total earned by its predecessors, “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace.”
