First Look: Diesel resurrects role in ‘Riddick’

The story: Escaped con “Riddick” (Diesel) is left to die on a sun-scorched planet, where he must fend off alien predators and ruthless bounty hunters, in this second sequel to 2000’s “Pitch Black.”
The buzz: Diesel is having a bit of a career renaissance, thanks to the rejuvenated “Fast & Furious” franchise. But the studio isn’t screening “Riddick,” at least locally, until well after the deadline for a review. That’s almost never a good sign.
