Daniel Radcliffe back on big screen

The movie: “The Woman in Black”

When: Opening Friday at local theaters

Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Janet McTeer, Ciaran Hinds

Director: James Watkins

The story: Sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased eccentric, a widowed young lawyer discovers a vengeful ghost haunting his late client’s house.

The buzz: After a decade as boy wizard Harry Potter, Radcliffe follows in his on-screen father’s footsteps by playing the same role that Adrian Rawlins — alias Harry Potter’s father James in all eight Potter movies — took on in a 1989 made-for-TV adaptation of Susan Hill’s novel.
