Cameron’s 3-D Cirque movie to film on Strip

James Cameron is turning his 3-D cameras on Cirque du Soleil, executive-producing a film that will collectively promote the resident shows on the Strip.

The theatrical feature will be directed by Andrew Adamson, whose credits include “Shrek” and “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.”

Cirque du Soleil spokesman Lou D’Angeli confirmed the feature will film locally and highlight the Las Vegas titles, “a tremendous representation of the brand.”

In a news release, Cameron said the film will be “a transporting, dreamlike narrative” that will bring “the Cirque du Soleil experience to a worldwide audience through the magic of 3-D cinema.”
