At the Movies: Retirees’ love story earns Oscar nod

The story: The love between retired music teachers Georges (Trintignant) and Anne (Riva) is severely tested when Anne suffers an attack.

The buzz: It’s the final best picture nominee to open in Las Vegas, just 17 days before the Oscars. The drama also is nominated for best foreign-language film, best actress (Riva), best directing (Haneke) and best original screenplay (Haneke).
