Imagine Dragons getting used to view from the top
The Imagine Dragons didn’t imagine this.
“It’s different than I could have ever expected, I’d say that for sure,” frontman Dan Reynolds said of the band’s breakout success before their performance at the Life Is Beautiful festival in October. “I don’t think you can ever prepare for what this year has been like. You dream that your band will be able to take off and go places, but I don’t think you ever really think it will happen.”
In March, the band sold out The Joint at the start of what was their first big headlining U.S. tour.
Nine months later, they’re returning to the same venue to cap a huge year in which they were the top-selling rock band in the country, earned a pair of Grammy nominations and saw their 2012 full-length debut, “Night Visions,” go platinum.
They’ve become stars, and now they have to figure out how to become comfortable being stars.
“I’m still kind of reeling right now,” Reynolds said. “I feel like I’m just kind of a fish out of water that’s just trying to adjust to everything.”
