Fan starts Change.org petition for Deadpool to host ‘Saturday Night Live’

Fans apparently can’t get enough of Marvel’s “Deadpool.”

Following the film’s record-breaking opening, movie-goers are now calling on “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels to allow Deadpool to host an episode of the variety show.

The petition, created by fan Andrew Stege four weeks ago, officially crossed the 20,000 supporter mark Thursday morning.

In Stege’s Change.org petition, he requests that SNL allow actor Ryan Reynolds to host an episode of the series. He wants Reynolds to host the entire episode while portraying the character “Deadpool.”

How would this not be hilarious having “Deadpool” in sketches, breaking the 4th wall, and inserting some of his brand of humor (obviously toned down a bit for network television),” the petition reads.

“For one thing, he isn’t a real person. There’s only so many sketches the cast could do with the costumed character over 90-minutes,” Polygon reported. “He’s also not a top tier superhero at this point,” the website said.
