CSN schedules week of concerts

A series of semester-ending concerts gets under way Monday at the College of Southern Nevada’s Cheyenne Campus.

All events start at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

General admission for each event is $5.

On Monday, the CSN Orchestra, under the direction of Christopher Davis, will perform.

The 55-piece CSN Concert Band, led by Dr. Richard McGee, will take the stage Tuesday.

Dr. Mark Wherry’s spring choral concert will feature the CSN College Singers, Chamber Chorale and Jazz Singers, as well as voice students, on Thursday.

And the Calypso Coyote Steel Drum Bank, directed by Robert Bonora, will perform Friday.

Family Kite Fly set for Saturday

A free Family Kite Fly is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at C.P. “Pop” Squires Park at The Village of Centennial Springs, located at the corner of Farm Road and Tule Springs Road.

The event will feature stunt kite demonstrations, live music and face painters.

Free kites will be given to the first 300 guests.
