Dinosaurs take over Thomas & Mack

“Walking With Dinosaurs — The Live Experience” will bring 15 “living” dinosaurs to the Thomas & Mack Center, Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street, beginning Wednesday.

The theatrical show depicts the evolution of various dinosaurs, including tyrannosaurus rex, Utahraptor and stegosaurus.

The largest of the dinosaurs, the brachiosaurus, is 36 feet tall and 56 feet long.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, 7 p.m. Jan. 11, 11 a.m., 3 and 7 p.m. Jan. 12 and 1 p.m. Jan. 13.

Tickets are $30.50-$72.50.

Wheelchair basketball set for this weekend

The inaugural Desert Classic Division II Wheelchair Basketball Tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Mirabelli Community Center, 6200 Hargrove Ave.

Teams representing the National Wheelchair Basketball Association — from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Dallas and Sacramento, Calif. — will compete beginning at 8:30 a.m. both days.

Admission is free.
