Italian opera star Andrea Bocelli has an important role at Thursday’s Keep Memory Alive “Power of Love Gala” in support of The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, even though he won’t be attending the glittering event at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Andrea and wife Veronique have donated two extraordinary auction item packages that he’s hoping will surpass $1 million. First up is a private jet flight from Las Vegas to Rome to watch Andrea perform in the fall with our Caesars Palace headliner Sir Elton John at The Colosseum.
Only 400 guests will be permitted to enter The Colosseum in the Italian capital to avoid danger and damage to the ruins. During the five-day, five-star visit to Italy, the Prime Minister of Italy will host a reception in his official residence for Andrea and Elton’s guests.
They include Larry and Camille Ruvo, Caesars headliners Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn and David Foster. Larry is hoping to sell the trip to 20 couples. Andrea also has donated a private Las Vegas concert for a high roller or hotel that buys his “marble piano.”
It is a Steinway carved out of a block of marble. Andrea also will let the winning bidder invite a dozen or so friends over for his wines while he performs. Details about the 21st annual KMA gala are in a special insert of today’s Las Vegas Review-Journal.
