TONIGHT IN L.V.
Three-time Grammy Award-winning saxophone sultan Branford Marsalis, who once led Jay Leno’s TONIGHT SHOW band, is a jewel among jazz giants. His quartet with bass player Eric Revis, Justin Faulkner on drums and Joey Calderazzo on piano has joined for the first time with jazz singer Kurt Elling for a one-night-only concert at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.
Superstar guitarist and Las Vegas resident Carlos Santana returns to House of Blues in Mandalay Bay for a run of shows through Sept. 25, then Nov. 2-13.
Legendary singer-songwriter and guitarist John Fogerty returns to The Venetian for a run through Oct. 1 with the four-member Six String Soldiers ensemble from the U.S. Army Field Band opening for him tonight and Friday.
Chef Wolfgang Puck rounds up his Las Vegas executive chefs for the 4th Annual Sip & Savor dine- and drink-around at his Spago in The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. With the restaurant closed for the night, it also is the farewell party for Eric Klein as he turns over the Spago kitchen to his colleague Mark Andelbradt from Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill in Downtown Summerlin.
The annual fundraiser with chefs and pastry chefs from Spago, Cut, Lupo, Cucina, Fine Dining and Bar & Grill benefits Keep Memory Alive at The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. Tickets are $150 per person.
The 37th Annual San Gennaro Feast, which runs nightly through midnight Sunday, features more than 70 food booths, 60 amusement rides, plus pony rides, petting zoo, games and music by local entertainers and bands hosted by Tony Sacca at Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas. Fireworks are at 9 p.m. daily.
Previews for the rock-a-go-go cabaret Cherry Boom Boom begin at The Tropicana ahead of the Sept. 29 grand opening with 12 featured dancers, aerialists, specialty acts, two comedia del arte actors and rock and roll musician.
