More than 1,000 screaming fans welcomed The Backstreet Boys for the continuing grand-opening celebrations of Sugar Factory’s newest location in Las Vegas at Fashion Show. The group is celebrating its 24th anniversary with a new series of two-year residency shows at Axis at Planet Hollywood.
Even before entering the candy kingdom store on the Strip, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough stopped to take selfies and posed for pictures on the red carpet while holding Sugar Factory’s signature Couture Pops.
In the retail and confectionery shop, they were surprised by the selection of sweets and goodies: They were, pardon the pun, like kids in a candy store! A couple members of the group sampled key lime and Butterfinger gelato, while others grabbed their favorite treats from a selection of more than 500 types of candy and Sugar Factory novelty items.
Afterward, BSB entered the fan-filled restaurant where they greeted everyone and posed for pictures with guests. For dinner, they enjoyed signature items including candy-themed goblets, insane milkshakes, monster burgers and rainbow sliders. The Boys couldn’t resist The King Kong Sundae with 24 scoops of ice cream, toppings and sparklers for dessert.
To end the evening, the group went upstairs to check out the second-level Chocolate Lounge where they sipped on chocolate cocktails including the Mudslide martini, frozen chocolate bacon s’mores cocktail, chocolate black and white espresso martini and frozen white chocolate rock candy grasshopper.
Before leaving, the guys stopped for photographs in the whimsical candy land garden where they posed in front of the 14-seat horse-drawn carousel surrounded by colorful, lit-up tulips and oversized lollipops, cupcakes and animal sculptures.
On Saturday, reality-TV star and fashion-style icon and designer Kylie Jenner, who has just landed her own E! Entertainment TV series, continues Sugar Factory grand-opening celebrations with a two-hour red carpet appearance starting at 6 p.m.
