Ryan Lochte ordered to remain in Rio — then departs anyway?

We have 2016 Summer Olympics drama this morning, and it’s not even in the swimming pool (yes, we know that all the swimming events wrapped up over the weekend).
Reuters reported this morning that a judge in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, issued an order to prevent Olympic gold medalist and hunk Ryan Lochte from leaving the country, which could affect his Las Vegas birthday plans Aug. 27, as we reported Tuesday.
The judge reportedly said that his decision is necessary so that he can unravel discrepancies between the differing accounts of the gunpoint robbery from Ryan and other Team USA swimmers.
Is this the start of an international incident? Will it become big news today? Because it threatens to wreck his belated birthday celebration at Azure Pool at The Palazzo, this is of interest to us.
But perhaps it’s all for naught.
The Associated Press is now reporting that silver-haired Lochte has departed Rio to return safely to the USA. It looks as if the birthday bash at The Palazzo is still on.
