EXES CELEBRATE $1 MILLION MILESTONE
Singer Marc Anthony and his new wife, Shannon De Lima, attended his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez’s resident headliner show ALL I HAVE at Axis at Planet Hollywood last weekend to help her celebrate its record-breaking night.
It was a milestone for J.Lo and Planet Hollywood hitting $1 million in box office sales, the first show at the Caesars Entertainment property to top the one-night record. She’s beaten pop princess Britney Spears, who held the previous record with her resident headliner show BRITNEY: PIECE OF ME.
I think it now places J.Lo neck-and-neck with Celine Dion at Caesars Palace and underlines that entertainment has become the top attraction on the Strip. J.Lo’s boyfriend, Casper Smart, was there for the exes’ reunion with his arm firmly around J.Lo’s shoulder during the meeting.
J.Lo returns to Axis in December, with Britney returning Wednesday for a run through Sept. 10 after her vacation in Hawaii with her two sons.
SECOND SEASON
There will be a second season of LAS VEGAS LAW. The Investigation Discovery cable TV network has given the green light for more stories of Cark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson and his powerhouse team of prosecutors as they pursue justice.
Production begins this week on the six-episode run to premiere in 2017. Radio commentator Wayne Allyn Root, who created the unique cinema-verite TV series, is at work on two more reality-TV shows set here.
He’s about to sign a national syndication deal for his WAR NOW radio show, and his new book “Angry White Male’ is due for release next Tuesday. Wayne also has just shot a pilot for his own TV political talk show, THE ROOT REACTION.
MADCAP MUSICAL DEBUT
ABSINTHE’s The Gazillionaire and his wacky assistant, Penny Pibbets, are threatening to make their madcap musical dance debut as part of the Cool Comedy, Hot Cuisine charity fundraiser Oct. 13 at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas in The Linq Promenade.
They will join comedians Bob Saget and host Bill Bellamy for the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s signature celebration to raise funds to find a cure for the devastating disease. Britney Spears, Celine Dion and The Gazillionaire have donated meet-and-greet VIP tickets to their shows for the auction. PAWN STARS has donated a VIP day on the set of the hit History Channel series, even giving the winner an opportunity to sell an item on the show.
Chefs Susan Feniger, Mary Sue Milliken, Hubert Keller and Rick Moonen, all TOP CHEF MASTERS cheftestants, are preparing the feast, and Rick has added a dinner for 10 at his ranch for a winning bidder. Full details and tickets: srfcchc.org and (800) 441-CURE.
ROUTE 91 HARVEST LINEUP
Organizers of the third edition of the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival at Las Vegas Village opposite The Luxor from Sept 30.-Oct 2 have announced additional performers at this year’s Strip gathering. Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town and Chris Young are already set for the main stage.
Brooke Eden, Dan + Shay, Locash and The Randy Rogers Band have been added to that lineup. On the second stage known as “Next From Nashville,” the lineup will feature artists including Brett Young, Courtney Cole, Aaron Lewis, Tyler Reeve and Aaron Watson.
The full list of stars appearing can be found at rt91harvest.com. Similar to the Rock in Rio festival, fans can go cashless again using a wristband as a digital wallet. Vendors will offer western clothing, boots and fashion accessories. Additionally, a vertigo swing will be set up for thrill-seekers over the Strip.
PBR FINALS WEEK STARS
A star-studded music lineup has been set in place for the Professional Bull Riders Finals Week here from Oct. 29-Nov. 6. George Thorogood and The Destroyers will open the four nights of T-Mobile Arena concerts, with Rick Springfield on the second night.
Two more headliner stars will be announced shortly, while the free concerts for fans in Toshiba Plaza include Colt Ford, Lita Ford, Jerrod Niemann, Warrant and Kyle Park. PBR Finals Week is expanding its schedule to an eight-day competition using T-Mobile Arena for the first time.
Additionally, The Blue Def Finals take place at South Point Arena & Equestrian Center, and, after each night’s competition, Neal McCoy and The Casey Donahew Band will entertain.
