In advance of diva Mariah Carey’s residency return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Aug. 24 for a run of shows through Sept. 11, she has confirmed the Sunday, Dec. 4, premiere of her new reality-TV series MARIAH’S WORLD on E! Entertainment.
MARIAH’s WORLD is a candid, off-the-cuff and behind-the-scenes look at her recent global tour, wedding preparations for her marriage this fall to Australian casino tycoon James Packer and new choreography.
Check out the first look at the trailer on YouTube. It’s going to be a busy fall season for the elusive chanteuse because she also will make her long-awaited debut on Fox’s EMPIRE.
The superstar singer will play the role of a … wait for it … superstar singer named Kitty who works on an explosive new song with Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett), and the two overcome personal difficulties to reach a musical breakthrough.
Mariah says that billionaire beau James was a Mimi fan before they met. In a Complex Magazine cover story, Mariah also reveals for the first time why she bought Marilyn Monroe’s white piano. She should have it onstage with her at the Colosseum, even if only once.
Britney Spears’ ‘Glory’
Meantime, Britney has confirmed that her new album “Glory” is set for release Aug. 26. She’s already previewed “Make Me” and “Private Show” from the record and says another track, “Clumsy,” will drop Wednesday.
There are now growing rumors that Britney changed her Axis at Planet Hollywood dates over the Aug. 28 weekend, as I reported earlier, so that she can kick off the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards from Madison Square Garden in New York on Sunday, Aug. 28, in the first live performance of “Make Me” with collaborator G-Eazy.
There’s been such a controversy over the music video for “Make Me” that her fans have kicked up an outcry and started a petition with 15,000 overnight signatures on Change.org demanding that the original “Make Me” video be released.
The first version filmed by edgy David LaChapelle was deemed too sexual in nature. The second version by Randee St. Nicholas has been criticized by fans as being too soft and not sexy enough. You simply cannot please all of the people all of the time!
