Las Vegas Golden Knights initial roster to be announced June 21

The initial roster of the new 31st NHL team our Las Vegas Golden Knights will be revealed June 21 when the NHL announces its expansion draft here at T-Mobile Arena as part of the 2017 NHL Awards.
Las Vegas and The Golden Knights will get a big boost when NHL Awards stars and Hollywood’s biggest personalities meet for the live telecast on NBC Sports Network and in Canada on Sportsnet TV.
Golden Knights majority owner Bill Foley, General Manager George McPhee and head coach Gerard Gallant will learn of the NHL’s 30 selections from the expansion draft in addition to the select players chosen by The Golden Knights.
The 2017 NHL Awards will again honor top, individual regular-season performances in categories including most valuable player (Hart Trophy), outstanding goaltender (Vezina Trophy), outstanding defenseman (Norris Trophy) and outstanding rookie (Calder Trophy).
The Ted Lindsay Award, which is presented annually to the most outstanding player in the NHL as voted by fellow members of the NHL Players’ Association, also will be awarded. The 2016-17 regular season concluded with Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid capturing his first career Art Ross Trophy as the league’s scoring champion.
Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby won his second career Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy as the goal-scoring leader, and Braden Holtby of The Washington Capitals won his first career William M. Jennings Trophy as the goaltender who plays at least 25 games for the club allowing the fewest goals.
This will be the eighth time that the NHL has honored the best hockey players in the world from Las Vegas. In a statement, Golden Knights CEO and Chairman Bill Foley said: “June 21 will be an incredible day for the city of Las Vegas and our fans.
