Celebrities in L.V.: Journey, Doobie Brothers, Go-Go’s, Alice Cooper, Iggy Azalea, Scott Disick, Mrs. America Pageant

Technically, this is the penultimate weekend of the 93 days of summer, but with Labor Day Weekend looming, Las Vegas will push the party for at least another month — and maybe into October if the weather stays nice. On the calendar, summer is June 21 through Sept. 21.

It could be a tremendous celebration weekend for Las Vegas PR exec Lauren Cahlan as Mrs. Nevada-America representing our Silver State at the Mrs. America Pageant at Westgate Las Vegas.

Lauren appeared onstage Thursday for the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown segments that will help determine the Top 15 to compete Saturday. You can read Lauren’s preview that I reported last Sunday.

If she’s crowned the winner, the 26-year-old 5’9” beauty, a senior account executive at Wicked Creative, will represent America in the Mrs. World Pageant in Korea in November. Today, Lauren faces the judges for interviews.

Las Vegas favorite Zowie Bowie starring Chris Phillips returns to Red Rock Resort as of this evening. It was his home for more than 10 years of shows with his interpretations of Top 40 and hip-hop hits.

Vocalist Nieve Malandra, who joined his high-voltage band in 2011, also returns. Chris made his Red Rock debut in 2006. Longtime Las Vegas ventriloquist Ronn Lucas also returns home this weekend with two nights of shows with his wacky animal cast at Suncoast.

There’s old and new rock for the next 72 hours. The Go-Go’s, Journey and The Doobie Brothers are at Mandalay Bay. Alice Cooper teams up with Blue Oyster Cult for Hard Rock shows all weekend, and Gary Lewis & The Playboys are at Golden Nugget.

Not enough? For music parties, consider this staggering weekend fact: There are more than 40 DJ dayclub and nightclub bashes with personalities including Kardashian hunk Scott Disick and Lil Jon at Hakkasan’s Ling Ling Club.

One big event this weekend is the fourth-annual celebration of the late Michael Jackson’s birthday. The Cirque du Soleil cast of MICHAEL JACKSON ONE at Mandalay Bay joins with The Estate of Michael Jackson for three days of King of Pop memories.

On Saturday, a fourth piece of memorabilia will be unveiled at the theater. On Sunday, Nate Giorgio will reveal three never-before-seen art pieces in the ONE boutique. On Monday, his designer and dresser of 25 years, Michael Bush, will sign copies of his book, “King of Style.”

And the show’s writer and director, Jamie King, choreographers Rich and Tone Talauega, music director Kevin Antunes and the executors will attend a specially created, one-time-only performance at 3 p m. to celebrate Michael’s birthday.

Two unique events today and Saturday: The dog days of summer are celebrated with the Dog Days Pawty tonight at The Hydrant Club on North 9th Street downtown. It’s a fundraiser to help put protective vests and gear on every K9 police officer in Metro’s K9 unit.

On Saturday, it’s the world’s biggest champagne shower attempt hosted by social media sensation Nicole Arbour at the Day Beats bash at The Flamingo’s Go Pool. A+E Editor Don Chareunsy’s Q+A with Nicole goes live at 2 a.m. Saturday.

Now let’s pop the cork and shake up the bubbles to blast off with our own Robin’s Royal Rundown:
