Celebrities in L.V.: Duran Duran, Miss Teen USA, Chris Isaak, Korn, Rob Zombie, New Edition, Leslie Jones, ‘Sharknado 4’

It’s a weekend where music from today meets music of yesteryear in a mashup that keeps Las Vegas at the top of the charts. The lineup of concerts and shows is impressive, with today represented by Duran Duran, Chris Isaak and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and yesteryear still hitting the high notes with Jefferson Starship and James Darren. We also have Blood, Sweat & Tears, Rob Zombie and Korn to cover the musical spectrum.

Music headliner Brian McKnight best summed up the mood of the musicians this weekend in an email to me: “I’m excited to be performing in Las Vegas again this weekend. The vibe and energy of the city is always the best time. I’ll be at The Smith Center, and I hope to see you all there. It’s going to be an amazing Sunday night.”

It also is a great weekend for two other standout events: the premiere of SHARKNADO 4, where Las Vegas is featured in movie scenes with Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, who will be attending the festivities at the Stratosphere, and the crowning of the new Miss Teen USA at The Venetian. So one moment you might be scared, and the next you will be smiling.

That’s Las Vegas midsummer with music, a movie premiere and a beauty pageant. Don’t go looking for the contestants to be in swimsuits at this stage, though, as they will display their physical attributes in athletic wear, as 2015 Miss Teen USA Katherine Haik of Louisiana told us in a Q+A posted Thursday morning.

Now it’s time for us to make a splash. Without further ado, here is this weekend’s Robin’s Royal Rundown:
