Several stores offer ways to bulk up

Many of our local stores stock smallish selections of items sold in bulk, but Rosalia Van Tichelt was looking for one that sold a larger collection. And readers have a timely suggestion for her: Winco, which opened recently at 80 N. Stephanie St. in Henderson and 6101 N. Decatur Blvd.

Winco was suggested by Penny Lumb, Thong Bartlett, Beth More, Judy Millian, Melanie Hakar, Sheila Greenbaum, Al Wirtzbaum, John Dooley Sr., Katie Bybee and Ellen Garland, who said Winco “has the most bulk food I have ever seen.”

Bartlett, Lumb, Jennie Cicala, Libby Casolari and Kyra Thibodeau recommended Sunflower Farmer’s Market, which is at 3365 E. Tropicana Ave. and 4020 S. Rainbow Blvd. Cicala, Casolari and Erin Collins recommended Whole Foods Market, which has four stores in the valley, and Collins added that most larger Smith’s stores have bulk sections. …

For Gisela Barker, who’s looking for caffeine-free regular Coke, Colleen Sams found it at Albertsons at 2650 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson; Carol Merta found it at Target at 695 S. Green Valley Parkway and Smith’s at 55 S. Valle Verde Drive, both in Henderson; and Joan Padilla found it at Vons at 475 E. Windmill Lane. William Isaacs emailed that he believes all Albertsons, Smith’s and Vons carry it, but “it is not a big seller, so they usually only have about four 12-packs on the shelf, so she needs to look carefully for it.” …

For Sharon Manion and Pam Morelli, who are looking for onion juice, Jackie Shrout reported spotting the Howards brand (as well as garlic juice) in the spice section of Smith’s at 9851 W. Charleston Blvd., and Sharon Hedges found onion juice at Glazier’s Food Marketplace, 8525 W. Warm Springs Road. …

For Joan Weglarz, Judy Hanna, Rudy Lehr and Penny Cornelius emailed that they spotted Knorr Sauerbraten Mix at the International Marketplace, 5000 S. Decatur Blvd., and Lehr and Cornelius also suggested the market at Cafe Heidelberg, 610 E. Sahara Ave. …
