Old-time favorites found

Ah, those tastes of the past; sometimes they’re available in the present. And that would be the case with B&M Baked Beans, being sought by reader Valerie Mulford.

Howard Chatt and Bob and Sally Harnish reported finding them at Glazier’s Food Marketplace at 8525 W. Warm Springs Road, with the Harnishes pointing out that they’re available there in both cans and glass jars. Chatt also found them at the Wal-Mart Supercenter at 8060 W. Tropical Parkway, and Laura Crowton and Nancy Fiorello found them at Albertsons. …

I’ll also point out here that the Harnishes said they found more Pennsylvania-based products at Glazier’s than they’ve seen since leaving Pennsylvania 10 years ago. And I’ll remind that it’s also a treasure-trove for former New Yorkers. …

For Joann Reinhart, who’s looking for San Benedetto Peach Iced Tea, Brian Strait of Siena Wholesale and Italian Market emailed that he carries peach and also lemon and green teas in 500-milliliter bottles – and noted that his company now is at 6125 S. Valley View Blvd. …

More on freestone peaches: Carol Butler found them in 28-ounce cans at Winco at 80 N. Stephanie St. in Henderson; there’s another Winco at 6101 N. Decatur Blvd. …

Lou Nunzio: a local store that carries Buitoni Pasta products;

John Stark: Grandma’s Zesty Chili Powder or Lawry’s Red Pepper Seasoned Salt, both of which he used to find at Albertsons;

And Randy Leonard: marinated garlic, in flavors such as teriyaki or Italian herb, the latter of which he used to find at Smith’s.
