DINING: Stratta at Marche Bacchus, plus a class and more

Award-winning chef Alex Stratta — late of Alex at Wynn Las Vegas and currently of Stratta at the same resort — has come on board to consult with the owners of Marche Bacchus, 2620 Regatta Drive, on their wine and food program. Joe Swan, formerly of Alex, is the new chef de cuisine. Among the changes expected are a redesign of the restaurant’s cheese program and the addition of seasonal side dishes. …
Sensi at Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South, will be the site of the Bellagio Wine Tweet-up from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday (May 14). It’s $25 inclusive; tickets will be available at Sensi starting at 1:30 p.m. …
A cooking class is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 24 at Roy’s Restaurant at 8701 W. Charleston Blvd. The class will cover the preparation of a three-course dinner (pancetta-wrapped tiger prawns, five-spiced duck breast and macadamia nut caramel tart) with wines, after which participants will be able to indulge. In honor of National Hamburger Day May 28 and in cooperation with the Children’s Miracle Network, Islands Restaurant, 10810 W. Charleston Blvd., will feature a Miracle Menu of spinach and artichoke dip, the Big Wave with Cheese and fries, and Kona Pie. Ten percent of proceeds from each item on the menu sold from May 28 through June 12 will be donated to St. Rose Domincan Hospitals for children’s services. …
The Pub at the Monte Carlo, 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has expanded its beer list and introduced new menu items, such as the Pub Crunchy Potato Ball and macaroni and cheese made with smoked gouda. And the dueling pianos are back, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.
