Bottle change confusing

Oh, those wily manufacturers. Sometimes I think they change packaging just to keep us on our toes, but it can have a negative effect if those familiar with their products no longer are able to find them. And that appears to be the case with Marzetti’s slaw dressing, being sought by Monica C. McAdams.

Debbie Caponera and Donna Shoulhoub e-mailed that they found it at Glazier’s Food Marketplace, 8525 W. Warm Springs Road, and Caponera also found it at Smith’s at 10100 W. Tropicana Ave. Libby Casolari said it’s available at Vons, and Darlene Howard reported finding it at local supermarkets, although she noted that it’s now in a bottle with a different shape and no longer is sold refrigerated, as it once was, but in the regular salad-dressing section. “After you chill in the refrigerator, it tastes exactly the same,” she said. …

For Maureen Ely, who’s looking for fresh roasted green chilies, Kathy Salazar and Dottie Reed said Hatch chilies are roasted during the season — which is late August to mid-September — at Sunflower Farmer’s Market, 3365 E. Tropicana Ave. (there’s another Sunflower at 4020 S. Rainbow Blvd.), and Clara Silver recommended Carlito’s Burritos, 3345 E. Patrick Lane. Carlito’s website notes that roasted chilies will be available Saturday. …

For Frank E. Campbell, who’s looking for Albuquerque brand tortillas, Armie R. Ball wrote that she orders directly from the factory at (800) 315-9058; the website is www.Albuquerque-Tortilla.com. …

For Robin Francis, who’s looking for creamy garlic salad dressing, Karen Langbert recommended Bob’s Original Roasted Garlic Salad Dressing, found at Bass Pro Shops, 8200 Dean Martin Drive. Langbert said it’s made by A.M. Braswell, and that Braswell’s own version is available at its website, www.Braswells.com (or call 912-764-6191). …

For Robert Crowton, who’s looking for reader suggestions for an authentic Filipino restaurant, Raquel Kaleb recommended Salo-Salo Grill, 3650 S. Jones Blvd., and D.J. Bibingkahan, 2680 S. Maryland Parkway. …

More on osso buco: Rhonda Carr recommended that served at the Tuscany Grill at 11105 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson. …
