After wait, Glazier’s has My-T-Fine

Readers frequently ask me why local supermarkets can’t get products they’re looking for. Well, here’s an example of why:

“It’s taken over 14 months to get it, but we finally have the supply chain set up and the My-T-Fine pudding line is here in Vegas,” e-mailed Randy Kersten, director of operations for Glazier’s Food Marketplace at 8525 W. Warm Springs Road. Kersten said the store is building a display and has more than 300 cases of “the holy grail of puddings” in six regular and two sugar-free flavors. …

For Sharon Wood, Gerry Gutz e-mailed that Dynasty Oolong tea bags are available at the 168 Market at 3459 S. Jones Blvd. …

For Carol Dwyer, who’s looking for a local source for Poppy’s Polish Pierogies, Karin Tomcik recommended Alexandra’s pierogies from the Polish Deli, 5900 W. Charleston Blvd. …

For Dimity Jefferis, who’s looking for loganberry and red- and green-pepper jelly, Cathy Nelson faxed that they’re all available at Albertsons at 7075 W. Ann Road, Jennifer Karuhn reported finding lingonberry at the market at Cafe Heidelberg at 610 E. Sahara Ave. and the Jensens at Village Meat & Wine, 5025 S. Eastern Ave., said they carry lingonberry as well. …

And for Claudia Wolt, Village Meat carries Alta Dena Creme Fraiche. …

For Joyce Block, who’s looking for Cambodian tuk trey dipping sauce, dried fenugreek leaves and tandoori spice mix, Shirley Mally recommended The New India Market, 4601 W. Sahara Ave. …

More on low-carb breads: Helen Glassman recommended the Sprouted Flourless Whole Wheat Berry Bread at Trader Joe’s, Glenn Nelson recommended the Julian Bakery low-carb breads (and tortillas, pitas and bagels) at Las Vegas Nutrition Center at 1725 N. Rainbow Blvd., Scott Kagan recommended Sara Lee’s 100-percent multi-grain (not 100-percent whole wheat), Mally said she was told by a delivery person that Aunt Hattie’s is now Nature’s Own and a representative of Lo Carb U Foods in North Hollywood, Calif., e-mailed that they carry a large variety, available at www.LoCarbU.com (or call 877-562-2728). And Richard Criswell, who sent in the item that ran here last week, pointed out that the correct name of the bread available at Walmart Neighborhood Markets is Sara Lee’s Delightful. …

And just in time for the warmer weather, Cincinnati-based Graeter’s ice cream now is available at Smith’s. …
