Diablo’s Cantina gets off to saucy start
October 19, 2007 - 9:00 pm
Las Vegas’ nightlife scene got a little wilder and saucier Saturday with the grand opening of Diablo’s Cantina.
Located at the Monte Carlo, Diablo’s got off to a rip-roaring start as a rowdy group of patrons checked out what probably will become one of the more popular party alternatives to the mega-clubs and lounges in the city.
From the guy dressed in the Mexican wrestling outfit (complete with mask) to the person wearing the rooster head and costume running around the second floor of the club, Diablo’s basically gives you a little bit of everything.
Think of Diablo’s as a two-story club, complete with an upstairs patio, that takes elements of Margaritaville, Fat Tuesday and Coyote Ugly and turns it into one big special venue.
Actress Michelle Rodriguez, comedian Kathy Griffin and actor Kevin Connolly ("Entourage") were among the celebrities in attendance, walking a red carpet that featured promotional models body-painted/dressed in she-devil outfits.
There was also a little person decked out in a Mexican poncho and sombrero as he shook a pair of maracas throughout the night to the delight of the crowd, signifying that madness and mayhem probably will be the norm at Diablo’s Cantina.
