WALKER’S ABDUCTION CLAIM LATEST TWIST TO MYSTERY
A claim by NFL star Javon Walker that he was abducted from the Bellagio while unconscious is under scrutiny by Las Vegas police.
Surveillance cameras from the Bellagio have been turned over to Metro, according to a source who spoke on background.
"There are security surveillance cameras at all entrances to Bellagio. Tapes of the activity from that night have been obtained and turned over to Metro for use in the investigation," the source said.
The Oakland Raiders wide receiver told the Website, TheDirty.com, that three men with guns beat and robbed him when he opened his door about 5:30 a.m.
"Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street," Walker was quoted as saying. He suffered a moderate concussion, a broken eye socket and reportedly underwent oral surgery on Tuesday.
Walker’s assailants would have had to carry or assist the bleeding 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver past security and security cameras on the way to a car.
"For that to happen (and go undetected) would be pretty extraordinary," said the source.
Walker said he returned to the Bellagio about 5:30 Monday after a night of partying at Body English, the Hard Rock Hotel nightclub where he was photographed spraying numerous bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne on the crowd. He ordered at least 15 of the $900 bottles.
He was found unconscious in a driveway behind the Imperial Palace at 7:19 a.m., police said.
Walker told the Website he agreed to the interview to refute rumors that the incident may have involved boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his large security detail. Mayweather and his entourage were seated near Walker’s VIP area at Body English, the Hard Rock Hotel confirmed.
