RAIDERS’ JAVON WALKER FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN VEGAS

NFL All-Pro wide receiver Javon Walker suffered a fractured eye socket during an apparent robbery attempt early Monday.

Sources told Vegas Confidential that Walker had been spraying champagne into the crowd at Body English nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel earlier, before he was found unconscious in a hotel driveway about 7 a.m.

Walker, who signed with the Oakland Raiders in the off-season, had spent about six hours at Body English before leaving about 6:30 a.m.

It was the second night in a row that Walker purchased 15 bottles of Dom Perigon Rose or more at a Vegas night club and sprayed the crowd with bubbly. He did the same thing at Tryst at Wynn early Sunday.

KVVU-TV, Channel 5 reporting that Walker was found unconscious on East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in the driveway at Summer Bay Resort at 100 Winnick Ave.

Walker was taken to Sunrise Medical Center’s Trauma unit with "significant injuries," police said. He was listed in fair condition with a fractured eye socket, hospital officials said.

Walker was in a limo on New Year’s Day 2007 when Denver Broncos defensive back Darrent Williams was shot in a drive-by incident in Denver.

Williams died in Walker’s arms.

Published reports in Denver at the time said that prior to the fatal shooting Williams’ teammate wide receiver Brandon Marshall and his cousin had sprayed champagne on patrons on nightclub patrons, triggering a confrontation between Williams and some patrons who flashed gang signs.

Williams was shot when a car pulled up beside the limo.

Walker asked Broncos coach Mike Shanahan for permission not to attend Williams’ funeral in Texas, saying he was too distraught. Walker flew to Las Vegas the weekend of the funeral and was seen at Tryst.
