OJ PULLED OVER BY NEVADA HIGHWAY PATROL

O.J. Simpson was pulled over by the Nevada Highway Patrol shortly after 1 p.m. on Interstate 15. NHP officials had received a tip that Simpson may have been driving under the influence.

Simpson, whom NHP officials said was not intoxicated, was not cited or arrested. He was pulled over somewhere between Jean and Las Vegas while he was traveling north on I-15, NHP Trooper Kevin Honea said.

Honea said Simpson was driving alone in a Chevrolet Suburban when he was pulled over.

“The guy was just driving. He did absolutely nothing wrong,” Honea said. “We owe it to the safety of the public to check these things out.”

Simpson faces charges of armed robbery and kidnapping in a District Court trial scheduled to begin Monday.
